Overview

Save Image as Type is a browser extension that allows users to right-click on any image and save it in a different format (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP). This extension is designed with privacy in mind.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or browsing information.

How It Works

When you right-click an image and choose a format, the extension:

• Fetches the image directly from its source URL
• Converts the image to your chosen format entirely within your browser (locally)
• Saves the converted image to your device via Chrome's download API

All processing happens locally in your browser. No image data is ever sent to any external server.

Permissions Justification

• contextMenus – To add format options to the right-click menu on images.
• downloads – To save the converted image to your device.
• activeTab – To access the image URL on the current page.
• Host permissions (<all_urls>) – To fetch image data from any website for local conversion.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
